MUSIC CHANNEL

2 pairs of inputs divided by a crossover consisting of phono and balanced line inputs.

Stereo/mono switch. When the button is out, the music section is stereo and mono when pushed in.

A dedicated HP/LP filter with resonance control.

MIC/LINE CHANNELS

The mic section is mono with the line section being stereo, but can be played in mono if an input is plugged into the Left channel only. The mic section also has an insert jack, this is not connected to the line side of the circuitry.

 

For tone control, there is a 3 band equaliser for low, parametric mid and parametric high control. The mid is a traditional peaking parametric eq but the high section can be switched between peaking of shelving.

16 BAND EQUALISER

This is on the music section only. You have a wide range of frequencies to choose from to tailor your sound to where you want it to be, but this is not a standard cut/boost EQ. When the controls are fully anti-clockwise (fully to the left), the EQ gain is FLAT, and as you turn the controls clockwise (to the right), you then engage gain of the selected frequency. There is no cut to this EQ.

PARAMETRIC EQ

Also on the music section, there are 5 FULL parametric EQ's. This give you control over frequency, bandwidth (or Q) and gain.

The Sub and Bass parametrics are on each band but the rest of the 3 bands are pre-filter, meaning they are not dedicated or separated to the Low Mid, High Mid or Tops bands of the crossover

VARIABLE CROSSOVER (+ some extras)

All 5 bands of the crossover sections are variable, which means you can tailor your speakers to match each other without having to use an external crossover or DSP if you was to change your speaker enclosure or speaker drivers. Just to add, all filters are 24dB/Oct. 

 

To start with, the Sub section has an added parametric tone control, which is also in my 1U and 2U bass preamps. These 4 controls allow you to really shape and round off the Sub by finding the sweet spot that you want, shaping it between 2 controls with some gain at that selected frequency if need be. There is also a phase button which allows you to invert the subs 180 degrees if need be

Now to the filter side. It has a switchable high pass filter at the push of a button, with one side being at 35Hz when the button is out and around 30Hz when pushed in. Not a major difference, I know but depending on your speaker box and driver combination, it makes a BIG difference! The low pass filter control is sweepable between 40Hz and 100Hz.

Similar to the above, the Bass section has a switchable high pass filter between 75Hz - 90Hz and the low pass filter control sweepable between 120Hz and 200Hz

The Low Mid, High Mid and Tops frequency controls are all sweepable and their frequencies are as followed:

Low Mid HPF: 80Hz - 200Hz • Low Mid LPF: 900Hz - 1.6kHz

High Mid HPF: 900Hz - 1.6kHz • High Mid LPF: 3kHz - 10kHz

Tops HPF: 3kHz - 10Khz

The Q control on each section allows you to adjust the slopes for fine tuning.

MASTER SECTION

All 5 bands have their own volume control and kill/mute switch.
